An energy absorbing lanyard connects a full body harness to an anchor point. In a fall the tear web energy absorber tears open in a controlled way to limit the shock loading passed to the body, which is what makes it a fall arrest lanyard rather than a plain restraint strap. The adjuster lets you shorten the 2.0m rope to take up slack and reduce the potential fall distance, and it is fitted with a steel triple action (K4) karabiner at each end. This is the standard rated version; for a 140kg rated model with aluminium connectors choose the SpanSet ERGOPLUS adjustable rope lanyard. It is built for personal fall arrest use in a full body harness under AS\/NZS 1891.1. Inspect it before every use and have it inspected by a competent height safety inspector at least every six months.
