An energy absorbing lanyard connects a full body harness to an anchor point. In a fall the tear web energy absorber tears open in a controlled way to limit the shock loading passed to the body, which is what makes it a fall arrest lanyard rather than a plain restraint strap. Choose the version with steel H1 snap hooks at each end for connecting to a harness and a smaller anchor, or the version with a steel H1 snap hook one end and a steel H3 scaffold hook the other for tying off to scaffold tube or larger structures. SpanSet identifies its connectors by code: H1 is a steel double action snap hook, H3 is a steel scaffold hook with a large gate for scaffold tube or larger anchors, K2 is a steel screwgate karabiner and K4 is a steel triple action karabiner. It is built for personal fall arrest use in a full body harness under AS\/NZS 1891.1. Inspect it before every use and have it inspected by a competent height safety inspector at least every six months.
