An energy absorbing lanyard connects a full body harness to an anchor point. In a fall the tear web energy absorber tears open in a controlled way to limit the shock loading passed to the body, which is what makes it a fall arrest lanyard rather than a plain restraint strap. Choose steel H1 snap hooks at each end, an H1 hook and an H3 scaffold hook, or steel K4 triple action karabiners at each end. SpanSet identifies its connectors by code: H1 is a steel double action snap hook, H3 is a steel scaffold hook with a large gate for scaffold tube or larger anchors, K2 is a steel screwgate karabiner and K4 is a steel triple action karabiner. It is built for personal fall arrest use in a full body harness under AS\/NZS 1891.1. Inspect it before every use and have it inspected by a competent height safety inspector at least every six months.
