thern-liberty-portable-capstan-winch
Thern Liberty Portable Electric Capstan Winch, 450 kg, 230V

Thern Liberty Portable Electric Capstan Winch

The Thern Liberty Series portable capstan winch brings powered lifting, pulling and tensioning to wherever the job is. This is the 230 volt model 3CP1S-BFS with integral swivel base, foot switch control and rope lock, rated to 450 kg (1,000 lb). The premium motor runs at around 80 dBA, quiet enough for the crew to talk over, and the maintenance free planetary gearbox keeps it working year after year with no servicing schedule.

The swivel base adjusts in 15 degree increments and locks with a swivel stop, so the winch rotates to line up with the load instead of the load lining up with the winch. Paired with the optional hitch mount, you position the vehicle once, rotate the winch to the load and lock it down. It is built for elevator shaft work, cell tower construction, pole setting, stringing lines and wind turbine maintenance, and for any crew that needs real pulling power in a unit one person can carry.

The sealed foot switch keeps both hands free for rope handling, the integral rope lock prevents unintentional lowering of the load, and the spring loaded rope keep stops the hand line coming off the drum while doubling as a carry handle. An over temperature light and integrated breaker protect the motor.

Key Features

450 kg (1,000 lb) maximum capacity with line speeds of 11 to 15 m per minute, load dependent

Quiet premium motor, around 80 dBA, with maintenance free permanently lubricated planetary gearbox

Integral swivel base adjusts in 15 degree increments and locks with a swivel stop

Foot switch control, IP65 and NEMA 4 rated for outdoor use, on a 3 m cord with twist lock connection

Integral rope lock prevents unintentional lowering; adjustable for line exit angle and operator height

Spring loaded rope keep secures the hand line and serves as a carrying handle

Over temperature light and integrated breaker protect the motor

Runs 13 to 19 mm synthetic rope, sold separately

Made in the USA by Thern, distributed in Australia by Beaver Technology Services

Specifications

Model

3CP1S-BFS

Maximum capacity

450 kg (1,000 lb)

Line speed

11 to 15 m per minute, load dependent

Power

230V single phase, 50 to 60 Hz, 15 amp rated current draw

Control

Momentary single speed foot switch, IP65 and NEMA 4 rated, 3 m cord

Mount

Integral swivel base, 15 degree lockable increments

Rope

13 to 19 mm synthetic rope, sold separately

Duty cycle

20 minutes at full load

Operating temperature

-20 °C to +40 °C

Ship weight

34 kg

This winch is designed for lifting and pulling materials.
