Choosing a temporary anchor for your roof
The right temporary anchor is decided by what you are fixing it to, not by the job you are doing.
On metal deck roofing, a screw fix anchor such as the Ferno ROOF LOK or the Spyda fastens into the existing roof screw lines and comes off without leaving a penetration to make good. On profiled sheeting where the edge is accessible, a clamp style anchor such as the Ferno EDGE LOK grips the sheet profile itself. On concrete, a removable concrete anchor or the SpanSet Concrete Temporary Anchor Point fixes into a cast in or drilled socket. On structural steel, a beam clamp or beam trolley fits directly to the flange and adjusts to the beam width, which is why they are sized in millimetres rather than by roof type.

Temporary static lines and horizontal lifelines
A static line, also called a horizontal lifeline, runs a rope or webbing line between two anchor points so a worker can move along a roof or a structure while staying attached. It is the right answer when the work covers distance rather than a single fixed position, and it is what separates a roof you can traverse from a roof where you are tethered to one spot.
Our temporary static line kits arrive complete with the line, the tensioner and the end connections, rated by the number of workers on the line at once. Two person rope and webbing kits cover most roofing and maintenance work. Four person systems and wire rope lines suit larger structures and longer spans. Individual rope lengths and line bags are available where you already hold the tensioning hardware.
Temporary static lines are rigged to suitable anchor points at each end. They are not a substitute for an engineered permanent system, and they should be set up by someone trained to do it.
Temporary or permanent
Temporary anchors and static lines are designed to be fitted, used and removed. If the roof needs a system that stays in place, is certified on installation and is inspected on a schedule, that is a permanent roof anchor and it is a different product.
