Prusik Cord & Loops

A prusik is a friction hitch tied from a smaller diameter cord onto the main line, and it is still the simplest backup and progress capture a rope technician can build. This range covers Teufelberger nylon prusik cord and pre-sewn loops in 6 mm and 8 mm, Ferno Arresta cord, Skylotec 100 m accessory cord rolls, prusik minding pulleys in alloy and stainless, and adjustable prusik stirrups.

Match the cord diameter to your main line: as a rule the prusik should be two to three millimetres smaller. See static and kernmantle rope for the main line and rigging gear for pulleys.
