Ferno Energy Absorber Shock Pack
The Ferno energy absorber, also called a shock pack, is the component that turns a rigid connection into a safe fall arrest system. In the event of a fall it deploys an additional length of webbing that is designed to absorb the force, so the shock load passed to the body and the anchor is reduced to a safe level.
It comes with a choice of steel hardware to suit how you connect to your harness and anchor. Choose the version with a triple lock karabiner at each end, or the version with a D ring and a scaffold style double action hook. Both are a compact, reliable way to add energy absorption where a plain lanyard or sling would otherwise be used. What does an energy absorber do?
In a fall, an energy absorber deploys an extra length of webbing that absorbs the force of the fall. This reduces the shock load transmitted to your body and to the anchor point, keeping the arrest within safe limits.
What hardware options are available?
There are two versions. VFM-SA10TL comes with a triple lock karabiner at each end and is 50cm long. VFM-SA20 comes with a D ring and a double action scaffold hook and is 58cm long.
When do I need a shock pack?
Any time a worker could take a free fall and the connection has no built in energy absorption, a shock pack is added between the harness and the lanyard or anchor to bring the arrest force down to a safe level.

DISPATCH & DELIVERY TIMES
Most orders are dispatched within 1-3 business days, though during busy periods or in the event of unexpected delays, please allow up to 5 business days for dispatch.
Orders are sent either from our warehouse in Sydney or directly from our suppliers warehouses in Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. Delivery times will vary based on your location, but we always aim to get your products to you as quickly as possible.

OUT OF STOCK ITEMS
Occasionally an item in your order may be out of stock. If this happens, weāll confirm the expected restock date with our supplier and contact you promptly. You can choose either to request a full refund or place the item on backorder and receive it as soon as itās back in stock.
URGENT ORDERS - Same Day Dispatch
If you need your order urgently, please get in touch. For a small admin fee, we can arrange same-day or next-day dispatch.
WAREHOUSE PICKUP
Some products are available for direct pickup from our warehouse or our suppliers' warehouses (located in Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth). Please contact us to confirm stock availability and arrange your pickup.
DELIVERY ADDRESS
Please provide a street address where you or an authorised person will be available to receive your parcel during normal business hours. We cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes.
DELIVERY COSTS
- Orders over $500 receive free delivery (excluding large bulky items or very remote locations)
- Orders under $500 incur a flat-rate delivery fee of $25 (+GST)
- Small orders under $150 are also subject to a $15 (+GST) small order surcharge
DELIVERY DAMAGE
Please inspect your package upon arrival. If you notice any damage, be sure to note it when signing for delivery. If your item arrives damaged, please email photos toĀ returns@heightsafetycentral.com.auĀ and we will process a claim with the supplier or courier.
Cancellations & Refunds
CHANGE OF MIND RETURNS
We generally do not accept cancellations or returns due to change of mind. Please contact us before ordering if you have any questions or concerns regarding the suitability of a product. If you have ordered the wrong item and it is still in brand-new condition, we may, at our discretion, accept a return. A restocking fee (usually 15-20%) will apply, and you will be responsible for returning the item to our warehouse or the supplierās warehouse.
ORDERED-IN PRODUCTS / CUSTOM MADE ITEMS
It is not possible to cancel an order for an item which has been specifically ordered-in for you or to refund / cancel an order for a custom made item. There are no exceptions to this.Ā
WARRANTY CLAIM / DEFECTIVE PRODUCTSĀ
While rare, if a product youāve purchased develops a fault, please email info@heightsafetycentral.com.au with a detailed description and photos (if possible). We will work with the supplier to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. If the supplier accepts the warranty claim, your refund will be issued to the original payment method.
